Rajasthan is the land where life in all its aspects come emblazoned in the brightest of colors. The colorful, exotic state of Rajasthan encapsulates the essence of India. The people of Rajasthan are perhaps the most colorful in a land of color -- their history, religion, music and dance, arts and crafts remain vibrantly alive and active -- and are presented here in all their variety and ways. Perhaps the most lasting impression that visitors take away with them after travelling through this state is that of color. In Rajasthan , color -- apparent in Turbans, In the long skirts known as Ghagras worn by Rajasthani women and in their Odhnis , a hood scarves new heights of Luminosity and vividness. Rajasthan is one of the most popular tourist destinations in India. There is so much to see from national parks such as Sariska, Bharatpur, Ghana to thriving cities such as Jaipur, Jodhpur and Bikaner, romantic forts and palaces, the beautiful towns of Udaipur and Pushkar set beside picturesque lakes the painted havelies (mansions) of Shekahawati and the incomparably exotic fort of Jaisalmer. Rajasthan is very much part of progressive, developing , modernizing India, past nowhere in the country does the long, continuos past so pervasively preens on the present as it does in modern Rajasthan. This perhaps is the secret of its Charm.

Geographically Rajasthan comprises of two distinct regions divided by the Aravalli range running southwest to northeast, its last low ridge spilling into Delhi. Marwar, Jaisalmer and Bikaner are situated in the western and northern parts which are marked by aridity of shifting sandhills, the major portion of the Thar Desert. The other Side of the divide boasts of dense forests and fertile irrigated valleys which support the historic cities of Udaipur and Jaipur.
